Composite Fillings

Dr. Wooddell uses composite fillings as they offer several advantages over the older amalgam (silver) fillings. They are significantly more esthetic since they blend in with the enamel and look like the natural tooth. Another advantage is that we chemically bond this type of filling to the structure of the tooth, resulting in much less potential for leakage.

Placing a filling requires only a few steps. After we prepare a cavity, we treat it for the bonding of the composite filling. We then place and shape the filling material, and we use a special light to harden the composite.
